This past Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the Wine & Food experience in Los Angeles, where I got to see one of my favorite people of all times, Martha Stewart.

My friend, who is a food writer and author, Bill Esparza invited me to the event, and when I found out that Martha was going to be there, I couldn't refuse the invite, I was a go...

We arranged to meet at a coffee shop near the event, and walk over to the festival, but the commute from Orange County to LA was insane, traffic was no joke. It took me almost two hours to get there, which made us change our initial plan. We met at the event instead.

I got there right on time, Martha Stewart had just started her cooking presentation. I made my way to the front, near the stage where I was able to capture every moment of the experience that I had been looking forward to… Being there, and watching her cook live seemed surreal, it was a feeling of joy that it's hard to explain since I truly admire all her accomplishments as an entrepreneur in the culinary arts, and in general. She's pretty bad-ass, I think!

I couldn't help not to express my love and admiration I have for her, so as soon as I got a hold of the microphone, there I was shaking like a child, nervous and excited at the same time, a weird feeling that I get only when I get star struck, which happens rare.

Me on the mic,"Hi Martha my name is Shelly, and I wanted to tell you how amazing you are! You’re such a role model for me, and It's an honor to be here and watch you cook live. I love you, and I wish I can cook with you one day, or more than one day, it would be such an honor".

The audience laughed, I did too!

Martha, said “THANK YOU"

My friend Bill did not stay to watch the presentation with me, he ventured out throughout the festival, while I enjoyed Martha cook live. We were scheduled to attend a private Oaxaca'n dinner in Malibu later in the day, so I had to wrap it up before the event was over. I looked at time and realized it was time to leave, it felt like I had only been there a minute, but it was actually almost two hours. I did not get to stay long enough to meet and greet Martha, but before I left I quickly took a selfie while she was being interviewed. It’s not the best picture, but I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to show the world that I met Martha, hello! #SelfieTime

I hope our paths cross again in the near future and we can actually take a good photo, and you never know my dream of cooking with her my actually come true. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for it to happen.

Later in the evening as I headed back home, I couldn’t wait to tell my friends and family of my experience, so I went ahead and shared the video I recorded during my interaction with Martha. They all gave me positive feedback, and were happy for me as they know how much that moment meant for me.

The end!

Until next time Martha!

Quick #Selfie with #MarthaStewart before heading to my next #foodie venture. Hoping for an actual picture together soon. 🙏🤗
